A twink is a player character that is disproportionately powerful for its level, possessing potent items and high-end enchants that are generally way beyond the means of other players at that level. Twink items are acquired through rare drops, drops off of bosses in instances, as rewards from very difficult to complete quests, as gifts, or from the Auction House. Twink items on the Auction House are usually very expensive. The enchantments twinks typically have on their equipment can be performed only by higher level characters at the top of the enchanting profession and are usually very expensive. Therefore, twinking usually requires significant assistance from high-level alts, friends, and / or guild members. However, there are examples of self-made twinks that generate the necessary gold from Auction House trading or other in-game methods. Twinks are mainly used in PVP fighting or in Battlegrounds. WoW Wiki
After all the careful planning and luck needed for level 29 this next level of PvP twinking is straightforward—camp the Auction House and run Razorfen Downs with a high-level friend. You could increase your chances of success by forewarning guildmates of your needs and get first dibs on random drops that they might find whilst playing their lower-level characters. Great if you can get them for free but be prepared—indeed offer first—to pay the going rate.
In some cases, I’ve only listed one option per equipment slot so if you really struggle to find this kit perform a manual search of the official Armory.
Head
Nightscape Headband is player-crafted and very easy to obtain. Gives +12 Agility and +11 Stamina.
Shoulders
Fleshhide Shoulders. Get yourself into Razorfen Downs and kill Glutton for a chance at these as they are Bind on Pickup. They give +15 Stamina, +6 Agility and +5 Strength.
Nightscape Shoulders. Player-crafted shoulders that give +11 Agility and +5 Stamina.
Wrists
Imperial Leather Bracers give +8 Agility and +4 Stamina.
Branded Leather Bracers give +4 Stamina and +14 Attack Power.
Hands
Gloves of Holy Might. Epix! And I has it my precioussss. +14 Critical Strike Rating, +20 Attack Power (+30 when fighting undead).
Shadowskin Gloves are player-craftable so should be easy to obtain. They boost +6 Stamina and increase Critical Strike Rating by 14.
Imperial Leather Gloves are a random drop giving +9 to both Agility and Stamina.
Bonefingers drop off Amnennar the Coldbringer, the End Boss of Razorfen Downs. +9 Stamina, +9 Intellect and 4 Mana per second recovery these gloves will help keep you shooting (hard) just that little while longer.
Back
Still Looking!Update 14 March: Austin K suggests via the comments the Bonelink Cape of Agility with +28 Armor and +10 Agility. Thanks Austin!
Chest
Nightscape Tunic. More player-crafted goodness for +15 Agility and +6 Stamina.
Waist
Ogron’s Sash. Luckily this dropped for me on another character and I stuck them in the bank for another alt. +9 to Agility, Stamina and Strength.
Warden’s Waistband. +8 Agility, +6 Stamina and +4 Spirit.
Legs
Basilisk Hide Pants. A very nice +21 Agility with +8 Stamina and +4 Spirit to boot.
Trickster’s Leggings of the Monkey give +10 or 11 Agility and Stamina (random enchant).
Feet
Player-crafted Dusky Boots with +11 Agility and +3 Stamina or Imperial Leather Boots for +11 Agility and +5 Strength.
Rings, Necklaces and Trinkets
From the Warsong Outriders you’re looking to update your rings of choice—the Legionnaire’s Band and/or the Advisor’s Ring and the Scout’s Medallion each for 207 Honor Points and 20 Marks of Honor. The Defilers let us down rather at this level as our next armor items are set at level 40 and are mail. The only thing you’ll want from them is the upgraded Defiler’s Talisman for 304 Honor Points and 30 Marks of Honor.
Edit: 7 March.
Out now! Level 39 PvP Hunter Twink Weapons—Booyah!
Great site! An addition to your 39 twink gear would be the Defilers Leather Boots. With +8 agility, +10 Stamina and +6 attack power, they are pretty tough. With the +run speed already built in, you can enchant them with +12 agility or +12 stamina and be well ahead of the curve.
Best site Ive found to help me out with this, thanks! But I have a suggestion for your back. If you can get the Bonelink Cape of Agility you get 28 aromor and +10 Agility.
Thanks Austin, glad you’re finding it useful. I’ve added the cape to the main article too.
The Defilers Leather Boots are class-specific, only for rogues and druids IIRC. In any case they are NOT usable by hunters, at least not at this level, I tried personally.
hi, i am making a lv 39 twink hunter and i do not agree with some of your items most of the stuff listed will give you a char which will challange a lot of people ….however if you are looking to be the best of the best there is better gear out there …
head: adventure pith’s helm
neck:snetials medalion
back (cannot remeber name) silky spiders cape i think with +12 agility on it
chest wolffear harness or wardens wraps
legs balisk legs as listed
feet swampwalker boots or arthi basin pvp reward lv 28
on your wrists scorpish bands
gloves : gloves of holy might
shoulders : revolosh shoulders of the monkey
weapons however is a argued area and i am going with duel weilding speedstell rapier and bow of searing arrows with marksman talent
this website is good though and if you go by wht it say you will have a alright char depends on how much you wish to send and how much you are wiling to farm for items
how much you are willing to spend sorry
have fun and play allience
Play Alliance? pffft
sorry didnt reply i am willing to spend a fair bit on my twink as i am twink crazy i h8 questing but love pvp
i am not sure how much i spent as i made the money as and when i needed it but i would say the good part of 800g plus
Exactly what I was looking for ,although I would LOVE a list of ways to get this all in detail.
I managed Bow of Searing Arrows and Gloves of Holy Might both at ‘oh-so-lucky’ prices being 80g and 60g respectively after lvl’ing my 29 twink into a 39 one.
I did opt for Khoo’s Point with a +15 agi enchant just to keep the costs down as I had both the weapon and mats at hand, and, I rather like the stam it has.
I also chose Dark Hooded Cape for the back.
Raptors tunic (+16stam, +4agil and +3stre) … can be obtained at lvl 29 but still gd for 39 although better could be found in instances.
Thanks for the information, it can be helpful in many ways. Regards, Tranca
Feet: Wolf Rider’s Boots of the Monkey +9 AGI and +9 STA. Fairly easy to find on the AH.
Anything “of the Monkey” is ideal for a Hunter. These provide both STA and AGI, both vital stats for PVP.
There are better boots. Swampwalker boots are lvl 32 leather and give 13 agility and 7 stam. I got some off the AH for about 90g.
Correction. I did a bit more research and I decided I’d rather have “Worn Running Boots.” They drop off of Eric “The Swift” in Uldaman. 12 Agility and 10 Stamina.
I find that as a 39 i would say icemail jerkin (sorry if mail training is lvl 40 but i saw it and just trained it. But if it is 40 once you get past 39 (if by accident or whatever) you should get the imj. it has worked fine for me from 40-50 so far and still going. has like 366 armor and some nice stats. depending on the realm it shouldn’t cost too much. got mine for 80g
Scorpashi Cape Is Best 39 Twink Cape For Rogues And Hunters..Slap 12 Agi On It And Youre Sorted
Worn Running Boots are great, unless you are Alliance. In that case you can’t kill Eric “The Swift” in Uldaman, like me. I been using the swampwalker boots. It sucks that we can’t get these or defilers leather boots(class specific). oh well. also, I been using the Cabelist cloak, Scorpashi Cape is a close second but this one has more stam and more agi, no strength, but strength is useless to a hunter
Dont listen to couple of f#cking “experts” here. Pay attention that you CANT put TBC enchantments on Wolffear Harres and Swapwalker Boots. Optimal choice as far as i can say it for now is N.Tunic or Raptor H. Tunic, but i didnt checked dungeons loot yet, maybe there are more intresting variants. As of boots if your not horde, didnt saw anything better than Wolf’s Raider Boots of Monkey for now, tho maybe there are some good BoP variants, this needed to be checked. And no f#cking wonder now why Alliance is mostly sux in BG, since there are, i presume, f3ucking tons of f#ucking stupid motherfucker-experts playing there, which are suggesting shit like here while knowing nothing.
lol @ Wasted. I’d agree, but Horde has gone to heck since all the six year olds *Glares at Wasted* started playing. As someone else said, Scorpashi Wristbands are wonderful for wrists, but you might look at the Cath green bracers from Fairbanks. They have stam and AP on them I think. Also, I’ve seen several hunters with the RFD end boss robe. I can’t think of the name, but stam, int, and crit make it a nice choice, though you lose some armor. For melee weapon, also the quest reward from killing the last RFD boss. Its a 1h sword with some nice AP on it, and can be enchanted with bc stuff. Bow of Searing Arrows, though epic, isn’t the best choice because of a relatively low proc chance, and lack of stats. Neither is the precisely callibrated boomstick because though its good DPS and has some agi, most of that DPS comes from its speed, and ranged weapon speed is useless in PvP for hunters because of the amount of time you spend kiting and shooting while you move. I can’t think of anything else, so Good luck, and have fun twinking. As for Wasted, you make for Horde look like a bunch of little kids who go around cussing because they think it looks cool.
Hi i,ve been experimenting with twinks for quite some time,my 39 Hunter is definately my favourite.Let me just say..Parachute cloak shits over all if u want to move around the bg 3 times quicker than any1 else.Even at 39 i recommend this cape.
I’ve been looking into the Back slot a little more and we need to also consider the level of the item for enchanting. Dark Hooded Cape is too low to have +12 Agi on it, so (assuming we get that enchant) our choice from the AH would seem to be:
Scorpashi Cape: +2 Str; +17Agi; +7 Stam
Bonelink Cape of Agility: +22Agi
Cabalist Cape of Agility: +22Agi
Cabalist Cape of Monkey: +18Agi; +6 Stam
and from RFD boss Silky Spider’s Cape, +12 Agi and +10 Stam.
I don’t want to farm in RFD (lazy!) so I have gone with CC of the Monkey as the loss of 4 agility is worth 6-7 stamina imo.
Good luck all!
I personally prefer a marks/surv hybrid for my 39 hunter. The instant aimed shot/arcane shot combo is lethal with BOA bow or bow of searing arrows. I use 2 nordic longshank and 20 agi enchants on both. also get boots from ulda with good agi/stam. For the chest go with the robes from RFD off the last boss. IMO the spec I have gets most efficient DPS/CC of any hunter out there. As mentioned above, you are always moving in PVP so have a HIGH end dmg bow like bow of searing arrows and two instant cast (aimed shot, arcane shot) with scatter shot in your arsenal makes you very Lethal. I personally have a tauren, but should have went with a troll for the racials cause I spec for reduced rapid fire. I play my bro’s troll hunter at 32 with several BOA items and blow everyone away in DPS. I plan to fully twink that toon at 39 so me and my bro can own with our twink hunter combo.
Firstly, I tried the gear mentioned in the main article, it was great, the crafted Nightscape items are cool, very, strong in WSG it was almost unstopable, it was not very hard to be in the first place ong DMG even in KB. http://profiles.wowarmory.sk/anthoria2/Wathark;id=610475&page=char&s=18 is my new twink hunters page on a blizz like SRV, if something is not equipped, its in a bank slot. So check out and have a lot of fun
